Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the exhaust back pressure valve from the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Back Pressure Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Loosen allen head bolt on V-band clamp (4). Note: If the V-band clamp (4) remain tight on the flanges, apply releasing fluid on the V-band clamps in order to assist removal. Lightly tap the bolts on the V-band clamps with a soft faced hammer in order to assist removal. Do not use a prybar in order to remove V-band clamps.
Remove V-band clamp (4) from turbocharger (5) and exhaust elbow (2).
Remove bolts (3) and spacers. Remove exhaust elbow (2) from turbocharger (5). Note: Support the weight of the exhaust elbow as the bolts are removed.Installation Procedure

Ensure that the exhaust elbow and the outlet of the turbocharger are free from damage. Replace any components that are damaged.
Use Tooling (A) to lubricate the threads of the allen head bolt for V-band clamp (4).
Loosely position V-band clamp (4) onto turbocharger (5).
Position exhaust elbow (2) onto turbocharger (5). Install V-band clamp (4) onto exhaust elbow (2) and hand tighten the allen head bolt on the V-band clamp. Note: Support the weight of the exhaust elbow as the V-band clamp is installed.
Install the spacers and bolts (3) hand tight. Ensure that exhaust elbow (2) is correctly positioned onto turbocharger (5) and is correctly aligned.
Tighten the allen head bolt for V-band clamp (4) to a torque of 12 N m (106 lb in).
Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 44 N m (32 lb ft). End By:
Install the exhaust back pressure valve to the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Back Pressure Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
