Remove the displacement control valve (1) from the head of the motor (2). All the parts that are beneath the valve should be kept in order for reassembly. Be careful of the springs, which may pop out when the valve is being removed.
Extract the two existing check valves.
Install the two new 301-7890 Check Valves (3). Be sure to install the O-ring between the end of each check valve and the displacement control valve.
Reinstall all the parts that go beneath the displacement control valve.
Reinstall the control valve. Make sure that the spool in the valve is clean. The spool should move freely in the bore before reinstalling the valve.
The pump and the motor solenoids should be calibrated after assembly. This calibration is described in Testing and Adjusting, RENR7313, "D3G, D4G, and D5G Track Type Tractors Electrohydraulic", "Forward Solenoids of Drive Pumps and Solenoids of Drive Motors - Calibrate".Note: Do not change the setting of the adjustment screw for the initiation current on the displacement control valve. This is the small setscrew that is directly next to the solenoid (4). Do not exchange the control valve from other motors. The adjustment for the initiation current is very sensitive. Additional steering problems may be caused by changing the adjustment or exchanging the displacement control valves.
