Remove the stabilizer cylinder from the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stabilizer Cylinder - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Place the stabilizer cylinder in position on Tooling (A) .

Use Tooling (B) to remove cylinder head (1) from cylinder body (2) .
Pull cylinder head (1) and cylinder rod (3) from cylinder body (2) .
Loosen set screw (4) on piston (5) .
Remove piston (5), from cylinder rod (3) .
Remove seal (6) and wear ring (7) from piston (5) .
Hand tighten cylinder head (1) onto cylinder body (2) .
Pull cylinder rod (3) out of cylinder head (1) .
Remove cylinder head (1) from cylinder body (2) .
Remove wiper seal (8), seal cup (9), seal (10), O-ring seal (11), O-ring seal (12), and back up ring (13), from cylinder head (1) .
Use Tooling (C) to remove sleeve bearings (14) and (15) .
