4. Remove the bearing cups (1) from wheel. 5. Remove bearing cone (3) from spindle housing.6. Remove inner half of Duo-Cone seal (2).Install Wheels, Bearings, And Duo-Cone Seals
1. Use seal installer (A) to install the inner half of Duo-Cone seal on spindle housing.2. Install bearing cone on spindle housing.3. Install the bearing cups in wheel. Use seal installer (a) to install outer half of Duo-Cone seal in wheel.4. Fasten a hoist and put the wheel assembly in position on the spindle housing.
Be careful not to damage the Duo-Cone seals when installing wheel assemblies.
5. Install a block under the tire or wheel assembly to keep it in position during installation of ring gear and hub.end by: a) install final drive ring gears and hubsb) make a brake adjustment (See BRAKE ADJUSTMENT in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
