Information:


At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with the bare hand.Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Note: Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Use caps and plugs on all lines, hoses, and tubes in order to prevent fluid loss or contamination of the systems.
Recover the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Remove bolts (1) and remove cover (2) that is located on the left side of the radiator.

Remove bolts (3) on the upper left side of the radiator group.

Remove bolts (3a) that are mounting the circuit breaker panel. Lower the circuit breaker panel. Remove the clips (not shown) that are securing the hose assembly for the air conditioning system from the back of the circuit breaker panel.

Remove bolts (4). Remove upper fan guard (5) and lower fan guard (6) .

Disconnect tube (7) from the tank assembly for the coolant. Disconnect hose assembly (8). Disconnect hose (10). Disconnect hose (9) and (11) at the engine.

Open the radiator access door. Label hose assemblies (12) and (13). Disconnect hose assemblies (12) and (13) from the condenser. Disconnect hose assemblies (12) and (13) from clips (14).

Remove two clips (16). Pull the two hose assemblies (12) and (13) backward toward the compressor. Disconnect lower radiator hose (15) from the engine block.

Remove bolts (17) and access plate (18) from the bottom of radiator group.

Disconnect hose assembly (19) that is located under access plate (18) .

Disconnect harness assembly (20) that is located on the left side of the radiator.

Attach a suitable lifting device to the radiator group (21) by using Tooling (A), as shown.

Remove mounting bolts (22) for the radiator group. Remove the radiator group (21). The weight of the radiator group is approximately 750 kg (1650 lb).
