Information:
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Refer to the following procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger housing (if equipped), which could cause oil coking problems.
Stop the machine and run the engine at low idle for five minutes.
Never turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position while the engine is running. Serious damage to the electrical system may result.

Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position and remove the engine start switch key.Engine Stop Control
When the engine does not stop with the engine start switch key in the OFF position, use the following procedure to shut off the engine.

This switch is located under the left side of the cab.
Open the cover.

Move the switch into the upward position in order to stop the engine. After the engine has stopped, move the switch back to the original position. The engine will not start again until the switch is moved back downward to the original position.Note: Only use the switch in an emergency situation. Do not operate the machine until the malfunction has been resolved.

When the engine does not stop with the engine stop control, use the following procedure to shut off the engine.

Shut off the fuel supply valve that is located under the fuel tank. The engine will stop when the fuel in the lines is consumed. Open the fuel supply valve after the engine has been stopped.Note: Do not operate the machine until the malfunction has been resolved. All of the air must be removed from the fuel system before operating the machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime" in order to help purge the air from the fuel system.
