The Caterpillar Factory Passwords System (FPS) is used to calculate passwords that allow service personnel to access protected operations. The FPS may also be known as Level III. Many of Caterpillars electronic control modules require passwords in order to change items such as fuel settings and engine horsepower.If a cost is associated with the operation (engine horsepower or optional attachment software), the FPS will bill the organization that performed the service. All operations are stored in a database that is accessible by Caterpillar and dealer personnel.The Factory Passwords System (FPS) is available on the Internet at "https://fps.cat.com". The FPS copies the "JUZ1xx" application that was available on the Caterpillar network in "AIMS".Note: The screens that are shown within the document may change over time. Also, if an error message is encountered, use the "Help" screen for additional information and support.Passwords may also be required in order to install optional attachment software. This instruction explains the process of determining the price of an attachment feature, for ordering attachment features, and for the installation of attachment features.Factory Passwords System (FPS)
The factory passwords system is available on the web site at "https://fps.cat.com". Note: In order to access the factory passwords system, you must have a login ID for the Corporate Web Security (CWS) and you must have authorization for FPS. Contact your local security coordinator for assistance.Upon accessing FPS, users are verified through the "Corporate Web Security" web site.

Enter your "Login ID" and "Password" into the Corporate Web Security site. Click on "Click Here To Login". Refer to Illustration 1.After logging in, the web site for FPS will appear.

The following options are located in the upper right corner of the FPS website. Refer to Illustration 2.FPS - Click on "FPS" in order to return to the primary input screen.Estimate - Click on "Estimate" in order to determine if a cost is associated with engine rerate passwords.History - Click on "History" in order to see the password history for a product serial number.Feedback - Click on "Feedback" in order to send comments or questions to the FPS analyst.Help - Click on "Help" for additional information and support. Also, use the "Help" screen for assistance with any error messages that may occur.
A cost may be associated with the factory passwords for engine horsepower. In order to determine if a cost is associated with the factory passwords for an engine rerate, select "Estimate" from the upper right-hand menu on the screen. Refer to Illustration 2. When "Estimate" is selected from the FPS webpage, Illustration 3 will appear.If an estimate is not desired, go to Step 7.
