Remove the final drive and brake assemblies from the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Final Drive, Brake and Wheel - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

Place the brake piston in a suitable press.
Use the press and Tooling (A) in order to compress four springs (1) .
Compress springs (1) enough to allow removal of retaining pins (3) from spring guides (2) .

Release the pressure from the press.
Remove four springs (1) and four spring guides (2) from the brake piston.

Remove O-ring seal (4) from piston housing (5) .

Separate the piston from piston housing (5) .Note: This is done by applying a small amount of shop air pressure to the pressure port. The bleed port should be blocked, as shown.

Remove piston (6) from piston housing (5) .

Remove outer O-ring seal (7) from piston housing (5) .
