Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the water pump is clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace the water pump. Clean the seal surface of the water pump.

Clean the seal surface on the cylinder block.
Install a new seal (3) to the water pump (2).
Install the water pump (2) to the cylinder block. Note: Ensure that the water pump is correctly orientated.
Install bolts (1) to the water pump. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 25 N m (221 lb in).
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct procedure. End By:
Install the alternator belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator Belt - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
