engine plugs and some fittings have sealant applied to them at the factory. These parts can be identified, after removal, by the presence of an orange or white coating on the threads. For most effective resealing, coat these parts with 5P3413 Pipe Sealant (with Teflon) before reassembly. Simply wipe off any loose particles and apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon over the old sealant before installing the part.
