Information:
Machine Preparation
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from working machines and personnel. Articulate the machine to the STRAIGHT AHEAD position. Lower the work tool to the ground.
Allow only one operator on the machine. Keep all personnel away from the machine or in the view of the operator.
Engage the parking brake.Performance Test
Stall Test
Note: Low stall speeds indicate a possible problem with engine performance. The stall speed should be corrected before the performance of the implement pump can be properly tested. The torque converter stall speed for the 834G Wheel Tractor is identical to the torque converter stall speed for the 836G Landfill Compactor. For information on the procedures for the torque converter stall test, Refer to the Testing and Adjusting Section, "Torque Converter Stall - Test" for the machine that is being serviced.Implement Cycle Time
The speed of the implements is affected by the amount of oil flow that is produced by the implement pump. Check the implement cycle times in order to determine if there may be a problem with the implement pump.
Perform the machine preparation for testing.
Warm the hydraulic oil to normal operating temperature.
Begin the test for the lift cycle time with the work tool flat on the ground.
Increase the engine speed to high idle.
Move the lift control lever to the full RAISE position. Measure the cycle time for the lift raise. Record the cycle time for the lift raise.
Move the lift control lever to the full LOWER position. Measure the cycle time for the lift lower. Record the cycle time for the lift lower.
Raise the blade to the full raised position.
Move the control lever to the full TILT RIGHT position. Measure the cycle time for the tilt right. Record the cycle time for the tilt right.
Move the control lever to the full TILT LEFT position. Measure the cycle time for the tilt left. Record the cycle time for the tilt left.
Move the control lever to the full TIP FORWARD position. Measure the cycle time for the tip forward. Record the cycle time for the tip forward.
Move the control lever to the full TIP BACK position. Measure the cycle time for the tip back. Record the cycle time for the tip back.
Lower the boom and place the work tool flat on the ground.
Reduce engine speed to low idle.
Shut off the engine.
