The ECM must be in normal mode 0 in order for the error codes to be shown on the display. The ECM defaults to normal mode 0 at power up. One of the four possible error code identifiers should be shown on the ECM display. If the ECM is not in mode 0, press and hold the ECM mode switch in the SCROLL position. Release the switch when "-0-" is displayed.
An error code should be showing at this time. The display will sequence through all error codes that are present. If there are no operator error codes that are active, "P - -" will be displayed.
In order to troubleshoot the operator error code, find the code in the "Diagnostic Code Procedures" module in this manual. When the operator error code is corrected, the code is automatically removed from the display.
