Information:

Personal injury can result from air pressure.Personal injury can result without following proper procedure. When using pressure air, wear a protective face shield and protective clothing.Maximum air pressure at the nozzle must be less than 205 kPa (30 psi) for cleaning purposes.
Personal injury can result when using cleaner solvents. To help prevent personal injury, follow the instructions and warnings on the cleaner solvent container before using.
Personal injury or death can result from a fire.Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
This machine is equipped with a spin-on filter on a single filter base. The filter is upside-down. Always drain the inverted filter before you remove the filter.

Drain secondary fuel filter (4). Place a suitable container under the drain valves. Open rear drain valve (5) first. Then, immediately open drain valve (6). Drain the fuel into a suitable container. When the fuel stops draining, keep the drain valves open. Loosen the inverted filter for 1/4 turn. As the filter is loosened, additional fuel may drain from the drain valves. When the fuel stops draining, loosen the filter for an additional 1/4 turn. Observe the flow of the fuel. Repeat this procedure until fuel does not drain from the drain valves. Close the drain valves. Properly dispose of the fuel. Note: Make sure that the drain valves are opened in the proper order. If you open the wrong drain valve first, an air lock in the fuel system may occur. This will not allow fuel to drain from the upper filter.
If maintenance is required, remove the filter.
Clean filter mounting base (7). Make sure that the old seal is removed.
Apply a thin coat of clean diesel fuel to the seal on the new filter. Install a new fuel filter hand tight until the seal of the fuel filter contacts the base. Note the position of the index marks on the filter in relation to a fixed point on the filter base. Note: There are rotation index marks on the fuel filter that are spaced 90 degrees or 1/4 of a turn away from each other. When you tighten the fuel filter, use the rotation index marks as a guide.
Tighten the filter according to the instructions that are printed on the filter. Use the index marks as a guide. For non-Caterpillar filters, use the instructions that are provided with the filter. You may need to use a Caterpillar strap wrench, or another
