Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install fitting (10) . Tighten fitting (10) to a torque of 14 4 N m (124 35 lb in). Install spool assembly (8) and spring (9) .

Install O-ring seals (7) and lightly lubricate O-ring seals (7) with the oil being sealed.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Install cartridge assembly (5) into valve body (6) . Tighten cartridge assembly (5) to a torque of 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft).

Install coil assembly (4) and apply Tooling (A) to the threads of cartridge (5) . Install nut (3) and tighten nut (3) to a torque of 13 1.5 N m (10 1 lb ft).

Install seal (2) into modulating valve (1) .End By: Install the modulating valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Modulating Valve (Torque Converter Impeller Clutch) - Install ".
