Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes.
Open the right side access door. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove the four bolts and access panel (1) .

Remove the nut and disconnect cable assembly (2) from electric starting motor (6) .
Remove the nut and disconnect wire assembly (3) from electric starting motor (6) .
Remove the nut and disconnect cable assembly (4) and ground strap (5) from electric starting motor (6) .
Remove the three nuts and electric starting motor (6) .Installation Procedure
Install electric starting motor (6) in the reverse order of removal.
Connect cable assembly (4) and ground strap (5) to electric starting motor (6). Install the nut. Tighten the nut to a torque of 12 1 N m (106 9 lb in).
Connect cable assembly (2) to electric starting motor (6). Install the nut. Tighten the nut to a torque of 8.5 1.5 N m (75 13 lb in).
