Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Install tube assembly (8) in front housing (6).

Install Tooling (B) in the front of the cylinder block.
Place gasket (7) in position on Tooling (B).
Trim gasket (7). Trim this gasket even with the bottom of the cylinder block.
Apply Tooling (C) to the engine oil pan and replace the section of the gasket for the engine oil pan. Apply Tooling (D) to the top of the section of the new gasket. Apply Tooling (D) to the intersection of the cylinder block, engine oil pan, and front housing. Tooling (D) will assist with installation of the front housing.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the top of front housing (6). The weight of front housing (6) is approximately 256 kg (565 lb).

Place the front housing in position on Tooling (B). Install bolts (5) that hold the front housing in place.
Remove Tooling (B) and install the remaining bolts.

Place the O-ring seals in position on sleeve (2). Apply clean engine oil to the sleeve.
Install sleeve (2) in the front housing.
Install the following O-ring seals: (1), (3) and (4). Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seals.
Trim the bottom of the front housing gasket even with the bottom of the cylinder block.
Install the bolts that hold the engine oil pan to the bottom of the front housing.
Install the oil supply tube that is between the prelubrication oil pump and the oil distribution tee.
Install the oil suction tube.
Fill the engine oil pan with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change". End By:
Install the priority valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Priority Valve - Install".
Install the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Install".
Install the fuel transfer pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Transfer Pump - Install".
Install the crankshaft front gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Gear - Install".
Install the front idler gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler Gears (Front) - Install".
Install the engine oil filter housings. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Housings - Install".
