Component Code(s) 1901SUBJECT: Eaton Top Two Transmission Shifting Problems with C11, C13, and C15 Truck Engines
PROBLEM:
54-5 Lockout solenoid short circuit
55-5 Shift solenoid short circuit
Fault - 191-7, Transmission not responding.
The ECM tries to make a transmission shift and logs 191-7 fault after three attempts to shift.
This fault is an active fault.
SOLUTION:
For Fault codes 54-5 and 55-5
1. Run a new ground wire for the shift and lockout solenoids. Each solenoid uses the same ground wire.
2. Replace the solenoids
For Fault 191-7
1. Flash ECM with new release software. Refer to Table 1.
