Information:


Remove lock pin (17) from the inner diameter of fan mounting hub (14). Clamp the bar of Tooling (C) in a vise. Locate the bar in the notches of clutch body assembly (16). Bolt Tooling (B) to fan mounting hub (14). Rotate Tooling (B) and fan mounting hub (14) counterclockwise. A torque of 881 N m (650 lb ft) or greater may be required to loosen the assembly. Lift bearing retainer assembly (15) off clutch body assembly (16) and the plate stack.

Remove clutch plates (18) and facing plates (19). Notice the order of the plates. Remove wear plate (21) and spring washer (20) from clutch body assembly (16).

Remove retaining ring (22) and balance plate (23). Remove seal (24) from clutch body (16). Remove clutch body (16) from piston housing (26). Remove seal (27) and remove dowels (25) if the dowels are worn or damaged.

Remove clutch hub (28) and woodruff keys from bearing retainer (15). Use Tooling (D) and press fan mounting hub (14) from bearing retainer (15). Place suitable blocking under bearing retainer (15).

Remove retaining ring (29) and oil seal (30) from bearing retainer (15).

Use Tooling (E), Tooling (F), and a suitable press to remove bearing (31). Place suitable blocking under bearing retainer (15).

Remove seal retainer assembly (32) from fan mounting hub (14).

Remove front wear sleeve (33). Use a suitable chisel to indent the wear sleeve (33) at every 120 degrees to loosen the sleeve.Note: Do not cut through the wear sleeve. Damage to the shaft will result in seal leakage.

Remove hook-type seal rings (34). Remove retaining ring (35).

Press shaft (36) out of pulley adapter (11) and tube assembly (37). Place suitable blocking under pulley adapter (11). Protect shaft (36) from damage during removal as shaft (36) drops downward.

Remove seal retainer assembly (38) from shaft (36). This step may be omitted if the seal retainer assembly is not damaged or worn.

Remove rear wear sleeve (39). Use a suitable chisel to indent the wear sleeve (39) at every 120 degrees to loosen the sleeve.Note: Do not cut through the wear sleeve (39). Damage to the shaft will result in seal leakage.
