For better clearance to remove the resistor, slide seat (B) to maximum rear position.
Move armrest (C) to forward and up.
Remove two bolts (D) from each side. Save bolts for later use. Slide seat to the right. Refer to Illustration 2.
Remove recirculation air filter. Save filter for later use.

Old resistor is identified by green lettering and gray cone-like end shown in circled area
Remove two Phillips screws (E) and disconnect two terminals (F). Save the part. Refer to Illustration 3.
Remove 449-1517 Resistor (A). Discard the part.

Install new 491-0681 Resistor (1).
Secure two Phillips screws (E) and connect two terminals (F) that were saved in Step 5. Refer to Illustration 5.
Replace air recirculation filter that was previously removed and saved in Step 4.

Install four bolts (D) to hold seat in place that were saved in Step 3. Refer to Illustration 7.
Place slide seat (B) and armrest (C) to the original position.
