Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propulsion lever (2) to the NEUTRAL position.
Rotate speed dial (1) to the MINIMUM position.
Move parking brake switch (3) to the ON position.

Move screed lift switch (4) to the FLOAT position. Lower the screed to the ground.

Move throttle control switch (5) to the HIGH IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second. The engine speed should increase to 2200 rpm.

Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on the operator display. Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43° 5.6°C (110° 10°F).
Move throttle control switch (5) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.

Open generator outlet panel on the left side of the machine. Remove covers from outlets (7) .

Move tool enable switch (8) to the ON position.
Turn the heaters for the screed plates to the ON position.

Shock/Electrocution Hazard! Do not work on this equipment unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manuals. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in serious injury or death.
Insert the red probe from Tool (A) into one slot of outlet (7) . Insert the black probe from Tool (A) into the other slot of the outlet. Check the frequency. The frequency should be 50.0 1.0 Hz.Note: If the frequency fluctuates more than 2 hertz with the heaters on, check the margin pressure. Increasing margin pressure within parameter limits should stabilize the frequency. Increasing margin pressure might necessitate decreasing the flow control setting.
Remove probes from outlet (7) . Check the frequency of the remaining outlets on the panel.
Move generator switch (6) to the OFF position.

Move engine start switch (9) to the OFF position after the engine reaches low idle.
If the frequency is outside the specified range, go to Step 18. If the frequency is inside the specified range, go to Step 22.

Open right access panel (10) on the right side of the machine.

Loosen locknut (12) . In order to increase the frequency, rotate adjustment screw (11) counterclockwise. In order to decrease the frequency, rotate the adjustment screw clockwise.
Hold adjustment screw (11) . Tighten locknut (12) .
Move engine start switch (9) to the START position. Release the engine start switch after the engine starts. Go to Step 6.
Remove the tooling. If necessary, close right access door (10) . Close the door of generator outlet panel (7) .
Refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, KENR6587, "Pump Control Valve (Generator) - Test and Adjust" if an adjustment was made in this procedure.
