Remove the transmission and output transfer gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission and Output Transfer Gears - Remove".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Remove bolt (1) and retainer (2) from yoke (3) .
Remove O-ring seal (4) (not shown) and yoke (3) .

Remove three bolts (5). Remove guard (6) .

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cover (7). The weight of cover (7) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).
Remove fourteen bolts (8) from cover (7). Remove cover (7) .

Remove two O-ring seals (11) .
Remove seal (9) .
Remove sleeve (10) from cover (7). Remove the O-ring seals from sleeve (10) .

Remove spacer (12) .
Fasten Tooling (B) and a suitable hoist to transmission assembly (13). The weight of the transmission assembly is 544 kg (1200 lb).
Remove bolts (14) that hold transmission assembly (13) to output transfer gears (15) .
Use two 3/8" - 16 NC forcing screws to separate transmission assembly (13) from output transfer gears (15). Remove transmission assembly (13) from output transfer gears (15) .
