Information:
1. Remove housing cover (1), wing nut (2) and the primary element (3).
32082. Remove the wing nut and the secondary element.
34122. Remove locking pin (4) from nut (5), and remove the nut that secures the secondary filter element in the housing. Remove the secondary element (6).3. Cover the air inlet opening. Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing.4. Clean out any dust dislodged into the filter outlet.5. Uncover the air inlet opening. Install a new secondary element.3208
6. Tighten the wing nut finger tight only. Do not use a tool to tighten the wing nut.3412
6. Install the nut securely and install the locking pin.7. Install the primary element. Tighten the wing nut finger tight only. Do not use a tool to tighten the wing nut.8. Clean, install and secure the cover.Cleaning Primary Elements
The following air intake system information applies for both engines.
Do not clean the filter elements by bumping or tapping them. Engine damage could result.
Filter elements can be cleaned with pressure air - 205 kPa (30 psi) maximum, pressure water - 280 kPa (40 psi) maximum, or detergent washing. 1. Direct air or water along the pleats inside and outside of filter element.The element can be washed in warm water and nonsudsing household detergent. Rinse inside and outside the pleats and air dry fully.2. Inspect the filter elements after cleaning. Do not use a filter element with damaged pleats, gaskets or seals.3. Wrap and store the clean filter elements in a clean, dry place.Water Separator (Engine B Only)
Change Element
Change the element when it becomes contaminated enough that the water level cannot be seen through the transparent cover.1. Stop the engine. The 3208 engine is located at the rear of the machine. 2. Clean the dirt from the separator and surrounding area.3. Open the drain valve. Allow water and fuel to drain into a container. Close the valve.
Typical Example4. Depress the extended tab on the retaining clamp with the heel of the hand, and lift the tab from the locking slot.5. Pull off the old element (1) and discard it.6. Clean the three seal recesses (2) on separator base before installing a new element assembly.
Make sure the seals of the element are in the seal recesses.
7. Insert the locating pin (3) into the outlet passage at bottom of new element, and push it into place.8. Insert the lower tab of the clamp in the slot at the bottom of the base. While depressing the clamp with the heel of the hand, push the upper tab into the slot at the top of the base.The clamp must be installed with the hand and finger tabs in the up position.Be sure the clamp is securely engaged in the top and bottom locking slots.Water Spray System
Drain
When freezing temperatures are expected, drain the water spray system and pump and the high pressure water pump to prevent damage to them. Removing the drive belt will prevent damage to the pump that could result from starting the engine with a dry pump, however,
