DC Version Support
The following .dc roading file formats are supported.
Trimble .dc roading file format versions 6.5, 7.0, and 7.5
Sokkia SDR33 version 4.0The CAESbasic system supports only the first road definition in the file. The non-roading records are not supported. When generating a .dc file that the CAESbasic software can read and interpret as a road definition, follow these bullet points. The bullet points may not be sufficient for other products to correctly read and interpret the road definition as a valid file.
A .dc file always begins with the file header (record 00). With roading, the file header specifies the coordinate order and the units of length and angular measurements.
Road definition must begin with a road header (record 28).
The horizontal alignment definition follows the road header, and all horizontal alignment records must be continuous.
The superelevation application, vertical alignment, and template application records follow the horizontal alignment definition.
Records for the horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, superelevation, and template application must be grouped together. For example, all vertical alignment records must be on contiguous lines.
Records for the horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, superelevation, and template application must be listed with increasing stationing.
The template definitions are listed last and must be contiguous.
Template definitions must begin with a template header (SDR33 V4: record 47, DC V6.5: record 83, DC V7.0 or V7.5: either record 83 or 97).
Template cross slope definitions must increase in offset from the master alignment.DC Record Support
The software supports all roading record types that are used by the RoadLink component of the Trimble Geomatics Office software version 1.60 or earlier, the Trimble Survey Office software version 1.50 or earlier and the Trimble SiteVision Office version 5.0 or earlier.Note: All .dc file records must be sorted in order of increasing stationing (chainage).DC Record Format
In order to find more information about .dc record types, refer to the CAESbasic Software CD folder \Docs\DC File Format. For an up-to-date list of record formats, refer to the Trimble FTP site ftp://ftp.trimble.com/pub/survey/bin/. New information is occasionally added to this site.
