Information:

Operation Description:To find the cause of a low oil pressure shutdown, perform this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CODE.
Check for a CID 0100 or CID 0269 diagnostic code that is active. (On EUI engines, check for a CID 100 E diagnostic code.) See System Operation, "Diagnostic Codes".Expected Result:CID 0100 or CID 0269 should not be showing. Results:
OK - A CID 0100 or CID 0269 is not showing. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - A CID 100 or CID 269 is active.Repair: Correct the active CID 100 or CID 269 prior to proceeding with this procedure. See System Operation, "Diagnostic Codes". Stop.Test Step 2. CHECK OBVIOUS CAUSES.
Check for low oil pressure.
Check the oil level.
Check for oil leaks.
Check for other obvious causes of low oil pressure.Expected Result:No obvious cause should exist. Results:
OK - No obvious causes for low oil pressure exist. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - An obvious cause exists.Repair: Correct the problem. Refer to the Engine Service Manual. Stop.Test Step 3. CHECK SETPOINTS.This step checks the setpoints P12, P13 and P14.
View setpoints P12, P13 and P14. Make a note of the values for these setpoints. See System Operation, "Engine/Generator Setpoint Viewing OP2".
Compare the setpoints that were noted with the specified setpoints of the particular generator set.Expected Result:The setpoint value that was noted and the specified setpoint value should agree. Results:
OK - The setpoints agree. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - The setpoints do not agree. Repair: Reprogram setpoints P12, P13 and P14. See System Operation, "Engine/Generator Programming OP5". Stop.Test Step 4. CHECK THE LOW OIL PRESSURE FUNCTION.
Turn the engine control switch (ECS) to the OFF/RESET and then turn the switch to the START.
Allow oil pressure to stabilize after the engine has started.
When the engine is at idle speed, compare the actual pressure that is showing on the lower display with the setpoint P14. The actual pressure that is showing on the lower display should be greater than setpoint P14.
When the engine is at rated speed, compare the actual pressure that is showing on the lower display with the setpoint P13. The actual pressure should be greater than setpoint P13.Expected Result:The actual pressure at idle speed and at rated speed should be greater than the respective setpoint value. These actual pressures should not cause a low oil pressure shutdown.Note: It may be necessary to check the accuracy of the oil pressure that is shown on the lower display of the GSC. Install an accurate engine oil pressure gauge as close as possible to the EMCP II engine oil pressure sensor. Results:
OK - Both actual pressures are greater than the corresponding setpoint value and the low oil pressure indicator does not FLASH. The problem is not present now.Repair: The problem may be intermittent. Check the harness and all electrical connections of the oil pressure circuit. See Testing And Adjusting, "Electrical Connector - Inspect". Stop.
Pressure OK, indicator FLASHING - Both actual pressures are greater than the corresponding setpoint value and the low oil pressure indicator remains FLASHING. Repair: The GSC
