Removal Procedure

Remove drain plugs (1) and (2). Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change". Remove the O-ring seal from the drain plugs.
Remove bolts (3) and remove oil pan (4) .

Remove gasket (5) from oil pan (4) .Installation Procedure

Apply Tooling (A) to cover the joints at Locations (Z) .
Apply Tooling (B) to Locations (Y) .
Install a new gasket (5) to oil pan (4). Apply Tooling (A) to Locations (Z) .

Torque sequences for bolts (3) .

Install oil pan (4). Install bolts (3) and hand tighten.
Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft) according to Sequence (A) in Illustration 5.
Retighten bolts (3) to a torque of 47 5 N m (35 4 lb ft) according to Sequence (B) in Illustration 5.
Tighten drain plugs (1) to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft).
Tighten drain plugs (2) to a torque of 90 15 N m (66 11 lb ft).
Fill the engine oil pan to the correct level that is indicated on the engine oil level gauge. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities and Recommendations" for the lubrication system capacity of the engine.
