options ECM (11)communicate through the CAN lines. To prevent data loss in the communication lines, termination resistors are required at the ends of the CAN bus. CAN resistors (8) and (12) act as termination resistors. The CAN resistors absorb unwanted noise in the communication system which can result in abnormal machine operation.Differences in materials along the CAN bus can cause data pulses in the bus to reflect back through the bus. This reflection, also known as "jitter", creates unwanted noise in the CAN bus. Jitter in the communication lines between computers can distort the original data signals. The distortion can result in data loss.Data in the CAN bus can also be contaminated with radio frequency interference (RFI). This interference can be caused by a number of devices which operate on or near the machine. RFI creates noise in the communication lines which can also distort the original data signals and cause data loss.Sidecutter Controls
Options ECM (11) monitors signals from propel lever (9) to determine the status of the sidecutter control switches. When either of the sidecutter up or down switches is held for more than one second, the sidecutter system is enabled. The sidecutter system is disabled under any of the following conditions:
During machine startup
The parking brake is engaged.
The propel system is disabled.
The machine is in reverse.
The sidecutter system is faulted. When the machine determines that the sidecutter system is enabled and the sidecutter up switch is pressed, the options ECM energizes sidecutter up solenoid (18). When the machine determines that the sidecutter down switch is pressed while the system is enabled, the options ECM energizes sidecutter down solenoid (17).When propel lever (9) is moved into the reverse range, an auto-up signal is generated for the sidecutter control. In this case, sidecutter up solenoid (18) is
