Removal Procedure
Disconnect batteries before performance of any service work.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Disconnect all electrical connections to the alternator before proceeding. Mark the connections or identify the connections for later installation.

Loosen bolt (2) and bolt (4) .
Slide alternator (3) toward the engine.
Remove alternator V-belt (1) from the alternator pulley.
Remove bolts (2) and (4) .
Remove alternator (3) from the engine.Installation Procedure

Put alternator (3) in position on the engine.
Install bolts (2) and (4). Tighten bolts (2) and (4) finger tight.Note: When you install the alternator, ensure that the alternator pulley is in alignment with the crankshaft pulley within 2.4 mm (0.09 inch).
Install alternator V-belt (1) .
Slide alternator (3) away from the engine in order to tension alternator V-belt (1). For more information on the tension for the alternator V-belt, refer to the Testing and Adjusting Module, "Belt Tension Chart".
Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 12 N m (9 lb ft).
Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 24 N m (18 lb ft).Note: Reconnect all electrical connections to the alternator before you operate the engine.
