Short Range Object Detection Sensors

The short range object detection sensors provide detection of objects close to the front and rear of the machine. The system utilizes four short range object detection sensors. Two short range object detection sensors will be used on the front and rear of the machine. Object detection sensors provide target information over the CAN data links. Diagnostic information is also communicated over the CAN data links. The short range object detection sensor pin out is defined in the Table 1.

6     Open    Each of the short range object detection sensors has a unique CAN address programmed into the software for the device. No two object detection sensors on a given CAN bus are allowed to have the same address. The address definitions are described in the Table 2. Refer to the Electrical System Schematic for the Object Detection System correct part number.

The medium range object detection sensors provide detection of objects at a longer distance from the front, rear, and sides of the machine. The medium range object detection sensor also is used to detect objects close into the left and right side of the machine.Two medium range object detection sensors are used on the front and rear of the machine. There are also two medium range object detection sensors installed on each side of the machine. Eight object detection sensors provide coverage of the areas of restricted visibility around the machine. The object detection sensors provide information about the target over the CAN data links. Diagnostic information is also communicated over the CAN data links. The connector contact information for the medium range object detection sensor is defined in the Table 3.

6     MPIO_0    Addressing on the CAN data link is defined by the states of "MPIO_1" and "MPIO_0". A "0" indicates the pin is grounded while a "1" indicates an open pin. The address definition is defined in the Table 4.
