Introduction
This test will allow the technician to evaluate the proper operation of the decelerator/brake pedal. To conduct this test, the tracks must be able to move in both directions.Required Tools

A3 1 198-4236 Adapter Cable As Test Preparation - Deceleration/ Brake Pedal
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.
Place the steering control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower the attachments to the ground.
Stop the engine.Note: The monitoring system (if equipped) for your machine accesses many values that are useful in troubleshooting the power train system. When the situation is appropriate, use the monitoring system to find a pressure or determine a system problem.

Remove bolts (7) and cover (8).
Remove sun gear (9).Note: The thread in shaft (9) is M16 X 2 - 6H.

Attach tooling (A) to the pressure tap (P8).
Replace the floor plate. Ensure that the test equipment does not get damaged.Test Procedure - Deceleation/Brake Pedal
Start the engine and increase the engine speed to HIGH IDLE.
Depress the brake/deceleration pedal.
Select the lowest maximum ground speed.
Release the parking brake.
Move the speed and direction control to the FORWARD position.Note: The engine speed will only decrease if the brake/deceleration pedal is set to decelerate the engine speed. The engine speed will remain at HIGH IDLE if the brake/deceleration pedal is set to decelerate the hystat system.
Release the brake/deceleration pedal. Record the parking brake pressure at pressure tap (P8) onto the worksheet. The parking brake pressure at the pressure tap (P8) should be 2850 200 kPa (413 29 psi).
Record the engine speed onto the worksheet. The engine speed should be 2100 30 rpm.
Fully depress the brake/deceleration pedal. Record the parking brake pressure at pressure tap (P8) onto the worksheets. The parking brake pressure at pressure tap (P8) should be 150 150 kPa (22 22 psi) .
Record the engine speed onto the worksheet. The engine speed should be 1400 50 rpm.
Move the speed and direction control to the NEUTRAL position.
Decrease engine speed to LOW IDLE.
Engage the parking brake.
Stop the engine.
Exit the machine. If the parking brake pressures are not within specifications, recalibrate the position sensor. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Position Sensor (Service Brake/Deceleration Pedal) - Calibrate". Then, perform the service brake test again.
Disconnect the gauge and hose from pressure tap (P8). Disconnect the communication adapter.
If the sun gears were removed from the final drives, install the sun gears. Fill the final drives with oil.
