Engine fuel system adjustments are made using the 122-8822 Tool Group, with Special Instruction Form No. NEHS-0610-02, or later. In addition, the Service Technician will need the following items:
* 8T1000 Digital Position Indicator, for checking dynamic rack (if needed)* 131-5009 or 148-3605 Wrench (for tamper-resistant governor plug)* 1U7299 Adjustment Wrench, and 1U7300 T-Handle Wrench for FRC adjustments.* Lockwire and Dealer seals to re-seal the Fuel setting, and governor adjustments* 8T9021 Adhesive to install new Engine Information Plate* an 'X' metal-stamp for marking the Governor information plate1. Increase the Full Load Static Fuel setting to new (higher) specifications: (Group 2 machines already have the higher fuel setting from the factory.) Adjust fuel setting screw counterclockwise (CCW) to increase the fuel setting.950G - 8.00mm 0.05mm. The new Performance Specification is 0K1115.962G - 8.50mm 0.05mm. The new Performance Specification is 0K1118.2. If the original (yellow) factory Seal is on the governor, follow this step to increase the Governor FRC adjustment. The FRC-adjustment is on the side of the Governor, under the tamper-resistant threaded plug. This plug has a triangular recess, and requires a special tool, p/n 131-5009 or 148-4605 to remove.The FRC adjustment is to be made ONLY to Governors with a p/n of 140-614200for 950G, or 141-786900for 962G. The change level is shown after the governor p/n, such as 140-614200. Change level 00 of both these governors may be adjusted. Governors with change level 01 or later have the new adjustment from the factory and should not be adjusted. The 140-6142 (950G) and 141-7869 (962G) Governors with Chg 00 reworked at the factory have an 'X' stamped in the top left corner of the Governor information plate, and should not be adjusted. Also, later machines/engines may have different governor part numbers and change levels, and are not eligible for this FRC adjustment.
* Remove the Governor Lockwire and Seal from FRC cover plug on side of Governor. Take note of how lockwire and seal are routed and located.* Remove tamper resistant threaded plug to expose FRC adjustment screw.* Adjust FRC turn "out" (CCW-Counterclockwise), and tighten the locknut.* Reinstall the tamper-resistant plug and tighten.* It is not necessary to check the dynamic FRC adjustment. If the Governor Seal is missing, or is a dealer seal (not the original yellow Cat seal), then it will be necessary to make a dynamic rack check of the FRC setting, per the attached "Dynamic Fuel Ratio Control Setting" procedure.
5. After adjustments are completed, install cover plug. Install new lockwire and Dealer seals for the static fuel setting, and for the Governor.6. Install valve cover, using new valve cover gasket.7. Stamp an X in the top left corner of the governor information plate, located on the top of the governor.
