Remove & Install Exhaust Manifold
Start By:a. remove turbochargers (left or right side)b. remove aftercooler1. Turn off the gas supply valve. 2. Disconnect tube (1) (balance line) from the fitting on the gas pressure regulator.3. Remove clamp (2) from the joint assembly. 4. Disconnect tube (1) (balance line) from the fitting on the carburetor.5. Remove clamp (3).6. Remove tubes (1) and (4) as a unit. 7. Remove bolts (5) that hold the exhaust manifold to the head. 8. Remove tubes (6) from the exhaust manifold to the exhaust bypass valve. 9. Remove bolts (7) that hold the exhaust manifold to the water regulator housing.10. Remove bolts (8) that hold the adapters to the exhaust manifold. 11. Fasten a hoist to the exhaust manifold. Remove bolts (9) that hold the exhaust manifold to the bracket. Remove the exhaust manifold. The weight of the exhaust manifold is 287 kg (632 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the exhaust manifold. Lubricate the O-ring seals with glycerin. The gaskets can be fastened to the exhaust manifold parts with tag wire, or short 3/8" -16 NC studs can be used as guide bolts for alignment on the engine.12. Using a hoist, position the exhaust manifold on the engine, making sure the gaskets are properly located.13. Install bolts (5) and bolts (9).14. Install bolts (7), (8) and (9).15. Install tubes (6).16. Install tubes (1) and (4) as a unit. Install clamp (2) on the joint assembly.17. Connect tube (1).18.
