Perform this test to make sure that the machine can reach maximum speed. This test provides an indication of the condition of the propel pump and motors. This test can also indicate an improperly adjusted propel cable.Required Parts

Establish a 30.5 m (100 ft) straight speed-test course. The course must provide sufficient distance for the machine to reach full speed before the starting line is passed. The course must also provide sufficient distance to stop the machine after the finish line is passed. The course should have no slope. The course should be over a hard or firm surface.
Drive the machine to the test area.

Move propulsion lever (2) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move parking brake switch (3) to the ON position.
Move throttle control switch (4) to the HIGH-IDLE position. Engine speed should be 2200 50 rpm. Note: The engine rpm will appear on machine display (1).
Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches a minimum of 38 °C (100 °F) minimum. Note: The oil temperature will appear on machine display (1).Test Procedure
Move parking brake switch (3) to the OFF position.
Back up the machine far enough to reach full speed before the start line.
Time the machine through the 30.5 m (100 ft) course. The acceptable travel time is 9 seconds to 10.2 seconds.
Repeat the test in reverse. The forward and reverse times must be within 1 second of each other.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
Move propel lever (2) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move parking brake switch (3) to the ON position.
Move throttle control switch (4) to the LOW-IDLE position. Note: The engine rpm will appear on machine display (1).

Allow the engine to run for 5 minutes. Move engine start switch (5) to the OFF position.
