This diagnostic code is associated with the "Transmission Solenoid 7". The FMI 13 diagnostic code is activated when the ECM detects that the solenoid needs calibration.Note: Before performing this procedure, verify that no other active CID 1407 diagnostic codes exist for the solenoid. If any other diagnostic codes are active for the solenoid, correct the problem before performing this procedure. Test Step 1. CALIBRATION
Perform the calibration procedure for the solenoid. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engagement Clutch Pressure For The Transmission Clutch - Calibration" section of this manual for the correct calibration procedure. Expected Result:The calibration procedure was performed successfully.Results:
YES - The calibration procedure was performed successfully. Resume normal machine operation.STOP
NO - The calibration was not successful.Repair: Repeat the calibration procedure for the solenoid. If the second calibration procedure is not successful, replace the solenoid. After solenoid replacement, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engagement Clutch Pressure For The Transmission Clutch - Calibration" section of this manual for the correct calibration procedure. If the problem is still present after replacement and calibration of the new solenoid, the ECM may have failed.Prior to replacing an ECM, always contact the Technical Communicator at your dealership for possible consultation with Caterpillar. This consultation may greatly reduce repair time. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the ECM. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOP
