Radiator
Look at the Coolant Levels
The tractor radiator cap is located in the top of the hood of the machine at the right front. The scraper radiator cap is located in the top of the hood of the machine at the rear. The following procedure applies to both the tractor and scraper radiators. 1. Remove the radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure.2. Maintain the coolant level to within 13.0 mm (.50 in) of the bottom of the fill pipe. If it is necessary to add coolant daily, check for leaks.3. Inspect the cap and cap seal for damage, deposits or foreign material. Clean the cap with a clean cloth or replace the cap if it is damaged.4. Install the cap.5. Inspect the radiator core for debris and clean if necessary.Compressed air is preferred, but high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a radiator. Clean as required by condition of radiator.Fuel Tank
Drain the Water and Sediment
The main fuel tank drain valve is located at the center of the machine under the fuel tank.1. Close fuel supply valve.2. Remove fuel supply hose from fuel supply valve.3. Open the fuel supply valve and allow the water and sediment to drain into a suitable container.4. Close the fuel supply valve.5. Connect the fuel supply hose to fuel supply valve.6. Open the fuel supply valve.Air Reservoirs
Drain Moisture and Sediment
The two tractor air reservoirs are located under the left front of the machine. The scraper air reservoir is located under the right rear of the machine. Open the drain valves. Allow all condensation to drain into a container. Close the drain valves.Walk-Around Inspection
Inspect Machine
Accumulated grease and oil on a machine is a fire hazard. Remove this debris with steam cleaning or high pressure water, at least every 1000 hours or each time any significant quantity of oil is spilled on a machine.
Keep a close watch for leaks. If leaking is observed, find the source and correct the leak. Check the fluid levels more frequently than the recommended periods if leaking is suspected or observed. 1. Inspect the engine precleaner for dirt and debris build-up. Remove dirt and debris from precleaner screen. Make sure the air filter indicator piston is not in the red zone. 2. Inspect the hitch components for cracks, worn pins or damaged stops. 3. Inspect the steering linkage for cracks and worn or damaged components. 4. Inspect draft frame gooseneck and cross tube for cracks, damage or distortion. 5. Inspect the draft arms for loose or missing mounting bolts. 6. Inspect the bowl and ejector for damage or distortion. 7. Inspect the lights for broken bulbs and lenses. Replace if broken. 8. Inspect and remove any trash build-up in the engine compartments.9. Inspect the cooling systems for leaks, faulty hoses and trash build-up. Correct any leaks and remove any trash from radiators. 10. Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks. Inspect the tank, hoses, tubes, plugs, joints and fittings. Correct any leaks. 11. Inspect differentials,
