(10) CAN resistorWhen the engine start switch is in the ON position, power transfers from machine ECM fuse (3) to terminal "2", "47", "48", "49", and "50" of machine ECM (4). The ECM is grounded at terminal "1".Power transfers from controls fuse (1) to contact "2" of display (7), contact"1"and contact "5" of keypad (8), and contact "2" of propel lever (9). The keypad is grounded at contact "2". The propel lever and display are each grounded at contact "1".Power transfers from water spray fuse (2) to contact "30" of water pump relay (5).CAN Communication
After machine ECM (4) receives power, the ECM begins to monitor display (7), keypad (8), and propel lever (9).Input Signals
The controls for the water spray system are on keypad (8) and propel lever (9). Microprocessors in the propel lever and the keypad monitor the status of the following control components:
Water spray enable switch
Water spray timer switches
Propel lever position sensorThese components send status information to machine ECM (4) through CAN communication lines. The water spray timer switches are integral to keypad (8). The propel lever position sensor and the water spray enable switch are integral to propel lever (9).Machine ECM (4) uses input signals from the water spray enable switch to determine if the water spray system is on or off. When the engine start switch is first moved into the ON position, the machine ECM sets the water spray status to off. Each time the operator actuates the water spray enable switch, the ECM toggles the status of the system between off and on. When the spray enable switch is held for more than 2 seconds, the machine ECM continuously operates the spray system until the switch is released.Machine ECM (4) monitors input signals from the water spray timer switches on keypad (8) to determine the desired water spray interval. The machine ECM defaults to the previously saved water spray interval each time the engine start switch is cycled through the OFF position. If machine ECM (4) receives a signal from either of the water spray timer switches on keypad (8), the ECM changes the water spray interval. In this case, the machine ECM sends a message to display (7) and the keypad. The display shows the currently selected interval as a percent. The keypad illuminates the appropriate number of indicators for the currently selected spray interval. The machine ECM saves the currently selected spray interval as the new default 5 seconds after the last actuation of either water spray timer switch. The spray interval represents the percent of time the water system sprays water versus the percent of time the water system is off. Possible spray intervals range from 0 percent to 100 percent.Output Signals
Machine ECM (4) uses water pump relay (5) to control water pump (6). Contact "86" of water pump relay receives a digital
