Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.
The machine should be cleaned at the end of operation each day. If the machine is not cleaned at the end of each day, asphalt or debris could build up. Cleaning the machine can help you find loose bolts, loose hydraulic lines, or loose hydraulic fittings.
Clean the machine.
Clean the steps and the handholds that lead to the operator station.
Clean the operator station. During operation with cement, lime or lime slurry, the following procedure may be necessary in order to reduce the buildup of material between the mixing chamber and the rotor.
After operation of the machine has been completed for the day, move the machine to an area that will allow the rotor to be lowered into the ground without damage.
See the operator console. Place the rotor control in the OFF position.
Move the rotor elevation control downward in order to lower the rotor to the ground. Continue to lower the rotor until the rear wheels of the machine are off the ground.
Move the rotor elevation control upward until the rotor is raised to maximum height. The impact and the movement of the rotor will dislodge excess material.
Repeat steps 3 through 4 until the material between the mixing chamber and the rotor side plates has been cleared.
