Engines With Scroll Fuel System And 4.75" Bore (D.I.) Engines Used In D4E, D5B And D6D Tractors Built In Japan.--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------A lower torque value is now used for the bushings that hold the fuel injection pumps in position in the housing on the above engines. Reports show that some fuel pump housings have been damaged when the bushings were tightened to the former torque of 205 14 N m (150 10 lb ft).
It is Caterpillar's recommendation that the new torque of 175 + 14, -7 N m (130 + 10, -5 lb ft) be used for these bushings. Make a note of this change in your Service Manuals.
