Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
Fasten a hoist and Tool (A) to the oil filter housings. The weight of the oil filter housings are approximately 224 kg (496 lb). Note: Position the electrical conduit out of the way in order to allow clearance for the oil filter housings when you replace the housings.
Put the oil filter housings in place.

Install five bolts (12).
Install tube assemblies (11).
Install harness clips (13). Note: The electrical connections and the other variations in the models could require additional installations or connections as the component is installed.

Install tubes (8) and bolts (10). Replace the gaskets, if necessary.
Install elbows (5) and bolts (3). Not all bolts are shown. Replace the gaskets, if necessary.
Install clamp (9) and bolt (6).
Install sensors (4) into the elbows.
Install the harness clips (7) onto the filter housing.

Attach a hoist and a strap to bracket (1). Put the bracket in place.
Install ten bolts (2).
Fill the oil filters with oil. Refer to the Operation And Maintenance Manual for the correct level. End By:
Install the oil coolers and the oil temperature regulator housing.
