Information:

20. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (82), and install it in cage (79).21. Install seal (83) on cage (79). 22. Put original shims (98) and cage (79) in position on cage (80), and install seven bolts (81).23. Rotate the shaft and bevel gear back and forth several times to seat the bearings.24. Use tooling (E) and a pry bar to check the end play of the shaft. Add or subtract shims as needed obtain a bearing end play measurement of 0.10 0.05 mm (.004 .002 in). 25. Put transmission input pinion (14) in position in carrier assembly (18).26. Put the shims (thickness determined during step 11) and cage (12) in position on carrier assembly (18), and install six bolts (11). 27. Put tooling (E) in position with the point of the dial indicator against a spline on shaft (14).28. Use a pry bar to hold bevel gear (85) while the backlash is being checked.29. Exchange shims (97) (installed during step 14) and shims (98) (installed during step 24) until the backlash between the transmission input pinion and the bevel gear is 0.315 0.11 mm (.012 .004 in). To increase the backlash between the transmission input pinion and the bevel gear, remove the necessary amount of shims (97), and add them to shims (98). To decrease the backlash, remove the necessary amount of shims (98), and add them to shims (97). 30. Install bearing (77) in support (49), and install four washers (76) and the bolts that hold the bearing in place. The inside diameter of the bearing must be 228.000 0.088 mm (8.9763 0.0034 in) after installation. 31. Install bearings (73) in gears (70).32. Put gears (70) and discs (71) and (74) in position in carrier (61), and install shafts (72). Make sure the rubber in pins (69) is not damaged.
