SAFETY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE WHEEL MOUNTING BOLTS AND WASHERS
MODELS INVOLVED - CERTAIN 924K, 930H, AND 930K SMALL WHEEL LOADERS
Dear Cat Product Owner:
Replacement of the wheel mounting hardware is required to ensure the integrity of the wheel to axle joints on the products listed below. This service must be performed even if your dealer has previously performed any prior service or inspection related to the wheel mounting hardware. Failure to have this service performed could result in loosening of the wheel mounting hardware, which if left unresolved, could lead to separation of a wheel, which may result in property damage, personal injury, or death.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. You will not be charged for the service performed.

Rework Procedure
**IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ ENTIRE PROCEDURE BEFORE BEGINNING THE REWORK.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Use a torque tool that is capable of achieving at least 1200 ft/lbs
If Loctite remains on exposed threads of the bolt or the axle shaft threads for more than 10 minutes before assembly of the bolt and complete torquing process, wipe off Loctite and clean all threads again as per instructions and reapply Loctite.
1. Prior to beginning this Rework Procedure, check the left front wheel bolts using a preset torque wrench to a specified torque of 300 N.m.
2. Tighten all 16 bolts and note the number of bolts that move prior to the torque click. If any move, note this information in the claim story, along with the number of loose bolts found and use PD code "96" as the warranty claim description code. This step is to document if any bolt is less than 300 N.m.
3. Remove eight alternating bolts and washers on one wheel at a time. Refer to Image1.1.1.
Note: Ensure that only eight bolts are removed at a time and that they are alternating bolts. No two bolts should be adjacent to one another. The removed bolts and washers will not be reused.
