GEARBOX AS 5028830 - Caterpillar

1. Extend the bucket, stick and boom all the way out. Install straps in the holes provided in the boom and then fasten a hoist as shown.2. Retract the stabilizer pads.3. Remove twelve bolts, nuts (1) and washers. 4. Put sturdy wooden blocks beneath the swing frame, so it will not move.5. Slowly, move the machine away from the swing frame a maximum of only 12 inches.
If the machine is moved any further, lines (2) will have to be disconnected.
6. If necessary, remove stops (3) and pistons (4). The following steps are for the connection of the sideshift assembly.7. If stops (3) and pistons (4) were removed, apply a suitable multi-purpose grease on them before installation.8. Slowly and carefully, back the machine up against the swing frame and install the twelve bolts, nuts (1) and washers.
