Disconnect harness assembly (5) for the engine oil level switch.
Remove bolts (6).
Remove oil pan (7) .Note: Support oil pan (7) prior to the removal of the last bolt.

Remove drain valve (8) from the oil pan.

Remove O-ring seal (9) from drain valve (8) .

Remove oil level switch (10) from the oil pan.
Remove O-ring seal (11) from oil level switch (10) .
Remove the oil pan gasket.Note: The oil pan gasket may be attached to the engine block or the oil pan.Installation Procedure

A     1U-8846     Gasket Sealant     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Install O-ring seal (11) on oil level switch (10) .
Install oil level switch (10) into the oil pan. Tighten oil level switch (10) to a torque of 120 10 N m (89 7 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (9) on drain valve (8) .

Install drain valve (8) into the oil pan. Tighten drain valve (8) to a torque of 70 7 N m (52 5 lb ft).
Clean the mating surfaces of the engine oil pan and the cylinder block. Apply Tooling (A) to the tee joints of the front housing and the cylinder block surface. Apply Tooling (A) to the tee joints of the flywheel housing and the cylinder block surface.
Put the oil pan gasket and the engine oil pan (7) in position on the cylinder block.

Install four of bolts (6), as shown. Tighten four of bolts (6) to a torque of 31 3 N m (23 2 lb ft).
Install the remaining bolts (6). Begin with bolt (6A) and tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 31 3 N m (23 2 lb ft) in a counterclockwise sequence.

Connect harness assembly (5) for the engine oil level switch.

Support access panel (4). Place access panel (4) in position.
Install bolts (3) .

Support access panel (2). Place access panel (2) in position.
Install bolts (1) .
Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".
