Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install Tooling (B) and support Tooling (B) with a suitable lifting device. Install bearings (21) .
Use Tooling (D) in order to install lip seal (20) .

Use Tooling (C) in order to install two bearings (19) .

Install seals (18) and washers (17) on yoke (15) .
Use two people to install yoke (15) in arm assembly (4). The weight of arm assembly (4) is approximately 30 kg (65 lb). Install washers (16).
Install yoke (15) in arm assembly (4) .
Install shims (14). Use shims (14) to obtain a maximum end play of 0.2540 mm (0.010 inch). Yoke (15) must rotate freely. Install seal (13) .
Install retainer (12) and bolts (11). Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 129 7 N m (95 5 lb ft).

Attach a suitable lifting device to arm assembly (4). Position arm assembly (4) to the original location. The weight of arm assembly (4) is approximately 181 kg (400 lb).
Install arm assembly (4). Install pin (9). Install pin (10) and the washers. Use the washers in order to obtain a clearance of 2.3 0.8 mm (0.09 0.03 inch) between centershift lock bar (10B) and plate (10A) .

Remove a suitable lifting device to arm assembly (4) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to cylinder (1). The weight of cylinder (1) is approximately 91 kg (200 lb). Position cylinder (1) to the original location. Install bolts (2) .
