PRIORITY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE CUSHION HITCH HOSE AND TUBE.
MODELS INVOLVED - CERTAIN 631G AND 637G WHEEL TRACTOR SCRAPERS

New Cushion Hitch Hose and Tube needs to be installed on the products listed below. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 12Dec2005 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Rework Procedure
1. Apply an air vacuum to the hydraulic tank to reduce the amount of fluid leakage that will be caused by the removal of the hoses and tubes in this procedure.

2. Replace the existing 246-8296 Hose As., which is on the right side of the tractor hitch, with the 272-5566 Hose As., and a new 4J-0520 Seal on the cushion hitch valve. Only attach the one end of the hose to the cushion hitch valve for now.

3. Remove the existing 148-8362 Elbow As. that is located on the main return tube, and replace it with the 241-6185 Plug As.

4. Add a 5P-2369 Clip, 7D-7233 Clip, 8T-4136 Bolt, 8T-4121 Washers, and a 8T-4133 Nut to the existing 236-9821 Tube As. on the right side of the hitch, as shown in the figure. This will hold the 272-5566 Hose As. in place.

5. Replace the existing 236-9820 Tube As. with the 272-5567 Tube As. on the left side of the hitch using the existing mounting hardware. During this process, allow the existing 236-9804 Hose As. to lay on the case, under the hitch until the new tube is installed. Also, allow the existing 247-1369 Hose As. to hang on top of the machine until the new 272-5567 Tube As. is installed.

6. Install the 188-2008 Elbow on the 272-5568 Spacer and orient as shown in the figure. Install the 272-5568 Spacer to the bottom of the 272-5567 Tube As. using the 1P-3705 Seal between the spacer and tube.
7. Assemble the free end of the existing 236-9804 Hose As., using the new 4J-0524 Seal, to the bottom of the 272-5568 Spacer. Reuse the split flanges, but use the new 8T-9391 Bolts to hold the flanges in place.

8. Connect the free end of the 272-5566 Hose As. to the 188-2008 elbow that was attached to the spacer.
9. Install the free end of the existing 247-1369 Hose As. to the top of the 272-5567 Tube As using the 4J-0524 Seal.
