Use of hydraulic oils that do not meet the requirements for the ambient temperature will impede the operation of the hydraulic steering and braking systems. This will also cause the implements to be sluggish.Solution
Use the correct oil viscosity grade for the Motor Grader according to the environment. Select the correct oil viscosity in accordance with the Operation and Maintenance Manual that is supplied with your Motor Grader. When ambient temperature drops below −15 °C (5 °F) use SAE 0W-20 oil or use SAE 0W-30 oil in order to ensure the correct operation of the hydraulic systems. If these procedures are not followed subsequent operation of the steering system and the braking system will be adversely affected.
