Rework Procedure For 969205 Muffler
1. Park machine on level ground.2. Remove existing U-bolts (2), muffler (1), right mounting bracket (3), and rear engine hanger (4).3. If the existing muffler is severely damaged, replace it with a new 969205 Muffler and 969198 Exhaust Pipe (5). The new muffler and existing muffler can be distinguished by the new location of the weld seam.4. If the existing muffler is not severely damaged, grind smooth the portions of the weld seam that interfere with the U-bolts.

Note that the new bracket's mounting tabs (for U-bolt) is bent opposite the former bracket.7. Install muffler (new or modified) using two new 953763 U-bolts and eight 949323 Nuts according to the following tightening procedure (Illustration 4).

Right front (W), left front (X), left rear (Y), right rear (Z).
Specification: 9 N m (7 lb ft).
Tightening Procedure Step 2.
Right rear (Z), left rear (Y), left front (X), right front (W).
Specification: 12 N m (9 lb ft).
