GENERAL PURPOSE BUCKET ASSEMBLY 7K7512 - Caterpillar

1. If necessary, loosen bleed screw (1) to release the pressure behind the brake pistons.2. Use a screwdriver, and pry the brake linings away from the brake disc.3. Loosen bolts (2) that hold pins (3) in position.4. If necessary, install a 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolt in the inner pin, and pull the pin until brake lining (4) can be removed. 5. To remove the outer brake lining, turn the wheel until the hole is in alignment with the outer brake lining retaining pin. Use tool (A) to pull the pin until the brake lining can be removed. The following steps are for installation of the brake linings. 6. Push the brake pistons further back into the brake caliper to obtain the needed clearance to install the new brake linings.7. Install the new brake linings, and push pins (3) into position.8. Check the clearance between pins (3) and the brake disc. The clearance must be between 0.25 to 3.00 mm (.010 to .118 in.). When the clearance is correct, tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 45 7 N m (33 5 lb.ft.).9. After installation of the brake linings, remove any air that may have entered the brake system. See Remove Air From The Brake System (Bleed The Brakes) in Testing And Adjusting.
