Relief valve (1) Top manifold (2) Valve (3) Spring (4) Shims (5) Plug (6) Bottom manifold (7) Body (8) Seal (9) SealThe relief valve provides pressure relief to all oil that is flowing to the brake oil cooler. Pressure is sensed at the end of valve (2). When the oil pressure exceeds the relief valve pressure, valve (2) moves toward plug (5). This compresses spring (3). This allows oil to flow past valve (2) which then returns to the hydraulic tank.In order to change the pressure setting of the relief valve, remove plug (5). Add shims (4) in order to increase the pressure setting. Remove shims (4) in order to decrease the pressure setting.
