Each of the systems operate independently of each other. Both of the drag conveyors operate in the same manner.The asphalt mix is loaded into the hopper. A divider separates right drag conveyor (6) and left drag conveyor (9). The divider helps to equalize the amount of asphalt mix that is going to the drag conveyors.Feeder gates (7) and (8) are adjustable in order to control the amount of asphalt mix that is delivered from the hopper to the rear of the machine. Each flow gate has a separate control.The flow gates are moved by electrically powered motors. Each flow gate has a separate motor. Flow gate adjustment is done by the control switches at the operator station.Two feed control sensors that are mounted on the rear wall of the machine monitor the amount of mix in front of the auger conveyors. One feed control sensor monitors the left conveyor system and the other feed control sensor monitors the right conveyor system.When the engine is running, hydraulic oil is sent to the left conveyor motor. The hydraulic oil causes the motor to rotate. The rotation of the left conveyor motor causes the conveyor planetary drive to rotate. The rotation of the conveyor planetary drive moves the drive chain. The movement of the drive chain causes the conveyor chain drive sprocket to rotate. When the conveyor chain drive sprocket rotates, the sprocket turns drag conveyor drive shaft assembly (16). Since drag chains (13) are meshed with sprockets (17), the rotation of the drag chain sprockets moves the two drag chain assemblies. The left drag conveyor motor moves the left drag conveyor assembly which transfers the asphalt mix from the hopper in the front of the machine to the rear of the machine.
