Installation Procedure
Note: Check all of the seals for wear and for damage. Replace seals, if necessary.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Climbing equipment may be required to access this service point. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Mounting and Dismounting" topic for safety information.

Install a new gasket. Place water pump (4) in position on the engine. Secure the water pump with bolts (3) .

Place water pump pulley (2) in position on the water pump. Secure the water pump pulley with bolts (1) .
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Capacities (Refill)". Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".End By:
Install the V-belts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "V-Belts - Remove and Install".
Install the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Fan - Remove and Install".
